The term 'monte' has also been used for a variety of other gambling games, especially varieties of three-card poker, and for the swindle three-card monte. How to play Faro & Game Rules: Faro is a historical casino game for two or more players. It ultimately derives from basset, where the banker (dealer) pays on matching cards. Monte Bank wurde ursprünglich mit spanischen Spielkarten gespielt, später mit französischem Blatt ohne die Werte 8, 9, 10, also mit 40 Karten. Die im Englischen gebrauchte Bezeichnung mountebank (so viel wie Marktschreier, Quacksalber, Scharlatan) leitet sich von diesem Spiel ab.
