The primary reason why I cannot give a better overall rating is the stench of cigarette smoke that pervades all of the commons areas and both casinos. There are two casinos on the property, one on each end of a long corridor that connects them both with the lobby and the two wings of hotel rooms.
The staff was great, attentive and very helpful - even going out of their way to find answers to some of my historical questions. Our room was large, quiet, had an unobstructed Lake Superior view, and it was very clean with comfortable beds and pillows. did I mention it is right ON the shore of Lake Superior? The Resort is of recent vintage, and public areas were being tastefully renovated at the time of our visit. The area features a spectacular light house, miles of gorgeous beaches, beautiful scenery, plenty of trails and. We had won a gift package in a fund-raising auction for the Bay Mills Casino & Resort on the shore of Lake Superior in Michigan's eastern Upper Peninsula.
